Best primer for oily skin
Wow this primer formular is top-notch for oily skin. I’m impressed with the ingredients and good texture it leaves on my skin. The best primer I ever bought!

Oily skin? NOT ANYMORE!
Why have I not discovered this sooner?! I honestly never thought a product like this would deliver and it has! I reside on the coast with very high humidity. Usually I would blot my face with a tissue a few times but now I only blot at my hairline. My face remains matte even after 12 hrs of wear. I typically use high end make-up but when my face gets oily it completely ruins the look. I’m happy to say that’s a problem of the past. How this is not rated 5 stars by others baffles me. This pairs well with NYX Marsh mellow primer to blur pores then apply the shine killer sparingly. I have mature skin, 49 yrs old with small to medium-sized pores.

Helps with “Some” of the shine
This is the 2nd time I’ve bought NYX Shine Killer primer. I bought once someplace else. I bought it a 2nd time with hopes it may work better if I apply more under my makeup. I have VERY oily skin and have yet to find a product that helps eliminate the shine coming through my makeup application. This does help, but I still have some oil coming through after a few hours. Maybe there’s nothing out there that’s truly for oily skin. The primer is a charcoal black color but it blends when rubbing it on. It’s very lightweight and you don’t even feel it on your face. (I prefer that in my primers). Although I think it’s a bit costly for the size of the tube and the amount you get. I know NYX has a face glue primer. Not sure how well it works for oily skin but I may try it out too. Overall this is a good product and may work best for people with slightly oily skin.

Lightweight with Lasting Power
Excellent product at a reasonable price. I have very oily skin and primer is necessary to keep my makeup in tact and not melting within an hour of application, but finding a good primer that lasts and does not cost a fortune is like finding a needle in a haystack. I was not expecting to find it in an NYX product but was pleasantly surprised. First, I love it’s a gel. I’d been using smash box photo finish but found its creamy texture a little heavy . I also had to be careful not to apply too much or it seemed heavy. The NYX primer is so lightweight, spreads easy and a little goes a long way. It does not feel greasy or heavy and it has lasting power. I got through a good portion of the day without any excessive shine or oiliness. Of course with oily skin you can expect to need to blot at some point, but nothing excessive. I applied it after moisturizer before applying foundation. I set with light oil free powder and that’s it. Great results! I really love this product at such an affordable price and will definitely repurchase.

I definitely would not call this shine killer. It initially minimizes shine upon application, but I don’t find that it controls shine throughout the day. It does have a very lightweight, silky feel and has a good price point. And it does not seem to break me out which is a plus.

Makes my face feel like baby skin!
I love how this makes my skin feel. I bought it to wear over my Vitamin C serum. It mattifies my skin so that my hair doesn’t stick to my face. My face felt like baby skin after applying it. I will definitely be buying this again!

Wow, shockingly bad. Makes you MORE oily, impossible to blend makeup, makeup slips off
I have very dehydrated oily skin. I thought this product would be perfect after all my moisturizing steps (which have always worked well if not great with other primers I’ve used), but this was awful.It goes on SUPER smooth. I was actually really surprised how smooth it went on & was excited. I looked up the directions & saw where it said to let it sit for a few minutes before applying your makeup. I waited 3 minutes.. still very oily & slippy (almost wet). Waited 5 minutes.. same thing. Waited another 10 & yup, you guess it.. the same.I gave up & applied my Dr. Jarts Cicapair treatment which is what I wear on days I’m not doing tinted moisturizer or foundation & it would NOT blend in. It took me 3 times as long to get it blended in than normal & it still didn’t even really go into the skin. This product is not joking when it says it creates a barrier between your skin.. nothing gets through it.. even your makeup! After blending forever, I went & checked it in other lighting & it was even worse than I feared. The Dr. Jarts treatment (which is thick & green, but changes to your skin color as you apply it) was sliding off. When I lightly touched my face all the product came off. My face feels wet & is even oiler than it already is. It feels like I have a film on my face.
